Laptop and Desktop both are some pros and coin's so that we can't say directly witch one is best first we need to understand what is the difference between them and why you need a computer. let's get started to clear the confusion:-
portability
laptop computers are small thin and low weight so that its essay to carry while traveling or working on multiple places even while you are traveling in a bus or train you can use a laptop and continue your study office work or complete your project and save your time for your family or friends.
In the other hand, Desktop computers are used on a fixed place and take more space because it's not joint its divided into many parts like monitor CPU cabinet e.t.c.

when we talk about laptops then there is no need of assembly even there is also pre-installed Operating system (Mostly windows or Mac in apple side) so after purchasing plug-in power and laptop ready for work after a few clicks.
Desktop computer parts are chosen by user so that it's not factory assembled. Today in the Indian market if we buy online every part then its assembled by own or help any friend or YouTube if you and your friends don't know much then you should hire a tech boy.if you go offline market then don't worry shopkeeper assemble it for you and they may charge you about 250-300 rupee extra.
Power Usage
laptops are very small in size so that it consumes very low power so that laptop requires a less watt power supply and they are run a long time with a battery if something happens with main power supply then your unsaved work will be not lost because of a laptop run with the power of the battery.
small UPS also in the market for desktop computers. it safe you from lost unsaved data lost but with the help of UPS, you will not run a computer for a long time.
Performance
if performance is your first priority then you must go with the Desktop computer. because Desktop parts have lager in size so that they give you a much better performance compare to laptop even when New processors are launched in the market. first, it will available for desktop computers.
only gaming laptop gives you equal performance but has a very high price.
Screen size
laptop and Desktop computer both can be connected with an external screen.
Cost
if you want the best system with less cost then you must go with a Desktop computer because Desktop is much Cheaper then a laptop with great performance compare to a laptop.
Upgrade
if you have a low budget then if you buy Desktop then you may skip some parts like use on board Graphics card buy small size hard disk drive e.t.c and after some time you upgrade without any wastage like buying Graphics card, buy high storage capacity hard disk or SSD e.t.c.
But the laptop is a one-time investment and you can't upgrade it. or if you replace it then too much money wasted.
Gaming
if you are a high-end gamer then you have must go with Desktop because there is no space problem so that we can you multi video cards with high wattage power supply but in laptop there is low space Due to low space Heat is also a big problem and you are limited with inbuilt graphics parts you can't upgrade it even you cant use high wattage video cards because they produce much heat.
Repair
laptop repair is the most difficult task because it's too costly even some parts not found in the market so that laptops need to send manufacture or order those parts online.
Desktop computer parts are found in every local market even you can replace it at home.
